About Ellie Johnson, MA, CCC-SLP

Ellie Johnson is a speech-language pathologist completing her clinical fellowship, with experience supporting children's communication, feeding, and social development across clinic and school settings. She takes a patient- and family-centered approach to care, entering every evaluation and treatment session with the goal of meeting each child and family where they are. She is also especially interested in early intervention, articulation, and supporting children with autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome, and she works to build trusting, empathetic relationships with the children and families she serves.

Sessions with Ellie provide child-led therapy across speech, language, feeding, and social communication, and she has experience supporting a range of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, including implementation, programming, modification, and parent education. She collaborates closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, teachers, and mental health practitioners to provide well-rounded, coordinated care, and she partners with families to encourage consistency and carryover of communication skills into everyday life.

Academically, Ellie earned her Master of Arts in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Minnesota Duluth and her Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Minnesota has always been home for her — she grew up in the Eagan and Apple Valley area and is excited to return to her community to serve patients and their families. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and staying active.
