Dr. Richard Powell is a board-certified pediatrician guided by a deep commitment to compassionate and thoughtful care. Dr. Powell has had a long and varied career as a pediatrician, serving as a hospitalist, outpatient general pediatrician, telemedicine pediatrician, and civilian pediatrician caring for the children of United States military personnel.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and later completed a master’s degree in nutrition and functional medicine from University of Western States to deepen his understanding of how nutrition and environmental exposures affect health. While working with the United States military, he helped children with weight and nutrition challenges, taught pediatric advanced life support courses, and served as medical director of the Exceptional Family Member Program.
Dr. Powell moved to Las Vegas to enjoy the outdoors. Outside the clinic, he enjoys hiking, exercising, tennis, and skiing.
