Dr. Mickens is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. She pursued her passion for child health and development, pursuing a career in Pediatrics. She believes one of the most important qualities of a physician is the ability to listen; attending not only to what is said, but also to what may go unspoken. Empathy is central to her approach as she partners with families to ensure their children live healthy lives. Dr. Mickens earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed residency training in Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Mickens married in 2024 and is the proud godmother of three godsons and one goddaughter, whom she adores. In her free time, she enjoys watching true-crime documentaries, reading, traveling, and exploring new cuisines, of which she is learning to recreate her favorites in the kitchen.
