Teens, Screens and Mental Health: What Parents Should Know

Dr. Matthew Hornik is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to providing compassionate, collaborative care for children, and he currently serves as Zarminali's assistant medical director for Michigan. He values open communication and partnership with parents, and he strives to create a welcoming environment where families feel comfortable asking questions and are involved in every step of choosing their child's care. He has special interests in newborn care, autism, mental health, and advocacy. Dr. Hornik earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Mich., and he completed his pediatric residency at Beaumont Children's Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., where he was also chief resident. Dr. Hornik serves on the Corewell Community Pediatrics Council and was the president of the Michigan Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics from 2020 to 2022. Beyond the exam room, Dr. Hornik shares his expertise with parents and caregivers as a contributor to the Zarminali Pediatrics website.
